Foundation delivers first round of barrel-mounted flashlights and special holsters to TAC Unit
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Foundation has provided the first installment of its promise to outfit the Tactical Unit with barrel-mounted flashlights.
In thanking the Foundation, TAC Commander Lt. Pete Ebel said that the lights, “….will ensure that our tactical agents will always have a light available to them when performing—in my opinion—one of the most high-risk tasks that we undertake on a freqeust basis. That is searching a room, an alley or some other location for a suspect who simply does not want to be found, and who may very well be lying in wait to harm one of us."
Ebel went on to say, “Similarly, these lights may actually serve to prevent a deputy from having to resort to deadly force, which is our goal whenever we go into these environments.”
The Foundation will fulfill its promise and complete the outfitting in 2012. |
